Issue:You created a new toolbar or ribbon and added commands to the CUI file for the toolbar/ribbon. However, when you loaded the CUI file, the toolbar/ribbon buttons displayed question marks instead of the correct icon images.
Causes:The commands refer to images which originally resided in a DLL named after the CUIx file from which you obtained the commands/tools. If there is no DLL file named after the current CUIx file that contains those images, the cloud with question mark will result.
Solution:To display the correct icon on the customized toolbar/ribbon buttons:
- Copy the DLL file from which the commands originated (e.g. acadm.dll, acad.dll, acade.dll, etc.) to the Program Files directory for your specific program (e.g. C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20xx or C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20xx\ACADE, etc.) folder, and rename it using the same base file name as that of the CUIx file (for example, partial.dll if partial.cui is the corresponding CUIx file).
- Remove any <custom cui file name>.mnr file contained in the folder where your custom CUIx file resides.
- Restart the AutoCAD program in question.
